GRE is a computer-adaptive test or CAT in short. There are at least two sections that occur for the test. The difficulty level (easy, medium, hard) of the second section of the test is selected by the computer, based on the performance in the first section. If you get a lot of questions right in the first section, you will get harder questions in the second section but carries greater weighted. If you don't get many questions right in the first section, you will get easier questions in the second section but with a lower potential for scoring.
Verbal and Quantitative scores range from 130 to 170, and it is always in a whole number. Analytical writing scores ranging from 0 to 6 and score is given in half-point increments. GRE score remains valid for five years.
